Story length and early notifications
We still have a number of stories in the collection that are under 1000 words, sometimes only by ten or so words. We do determine length based on the AO3's measure, so even if your word processor says you had 1000 words, if the AO3 reads it as fewer, then it may need to be a little longer! Pinch hits assigned Dec. 15th-20th are due at 11:59 pm EST on Dec. 22nd. Here's a terrifying countdown!

We've generated the needed pinch hit list, but there's some sorting and getting ready to do that isn't going to happen tonight!

Notes on defaulting and... notes! Also, posting in chapters
- When you default by clicking the "default" button on the "My Assignments" page in your AO3 account (archiveofourown.org/users/[AO3 pseud]/assignments), it automatically notifies the mods, and your assignment will disappear from that page.

500 posting error bug has been fixed! Also, deadlines deadlines deadlines!
If you've been having trouble posting and getting 500 errors, the most recent AO3 deploy should fix that. If you're still getting 500 errors, please notify AO3 support, and you might drop a note here, too.

If you're going to be traveling or involved in holiday activities, or anything else that will keep you from reading and commenting on your gift story for more than a day or so, you can drop a note here, in addition to posting something to your LJ/DW, if you want. -
Archive Slowdowns and Uploading Early
The default deadline has been changed to Friday, December 17th! If you don't think you can make the upload deadline on Monday the 20th, defaulting will guarantee that your recipient has a story, and you aren't penalized for defaulting late or without notice ( Read more... )
